The 2014 SOWE (Southern Westchester) Food & Wine Festival is a unique culinary celebration showcasing the talents of renowned restaurants, wineries, pit masters, cheese mongers, breweries, specialty culinary providers, spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities. Hosted by the Scarsdale Chamber of Commerce and The Village of Mamaroneck, the Festival brings community together through food, wine, and beverage sampling, while generating awareness and raising funds to fight hunger, obesity, & malnutrition.
SOWE Food & Wine Festival began as a one-day festival known as the Taste of Scarsdale in 2012. In 2013 The Southern Westchester Food & Wine Festival attracted over 7,500 guests to a one-day Grand Tasting Village. The 2013 Festival earned millions of media impressions through integrated advertising, promotion, marketing and pr, and raised money for the beneficiaries, including WhyHunger, Food Bank for Westchester, Greyston Foundation, Don Bosco Community Center, and other worthy organizations.
This year, the Festival anticipates attracting over 25,000 people with additional events and additional locations, making it the largest and most well-known festivals of its kind in the county. It is now a premier, annual, multi-day, multi location lifestyle festival, showcasing the offerings of Southern Westchester County, including Ardsley, Bronxville, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Hartsdale, Harrison, Irvington, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Pelham, Pelham Manor, Port Chester, Purchase, Rye Town, Rye Brook, Rye City, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe, White Plains, etc.
SOWE 2014 will feature a full September 2014 weekend of varied activities, locations, and exciting new events, creating a bigger, better, overall experience in three Westchester County, New York venues
(Scarsdale, Mamaroneck, and White Plains), September 19-21, 2014. A variety of events will feature cooking demonstrations, competitions by celebrity chefs, BBQ cook-offs, food trucks, concerts, book signings, and participation by hundreds of restaurants, caterers, wine merchants, cheese mongers, and specialty culinary providers. The SoWe F&WF is produced by Baumer Ventures, Inc. (BVI) & Imagine Party & Events. With a combined 50 year history of event, charity, party, concert, and festival planning, these two groups oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of this special event. Husband and wife team, Richard & Stacey Baumer¸ along with their eldest daughter, Casey Baumer, are longtime Southern Westchester residents, and have created private and corporate events that define elegance, flair, spectacular, unique, unusual, and inviting. Prior to founding BVI in 2007, Rich Baumer was the founder & CEO of Venture Direct Worldwide, a leading direct response/online media agency, and later Business Manager at Renegade Nation (Entertainment Holding Company of musician/actor Steven Van Zandt). Stacey. Baumer, with her partner Debra Wecker, founded Imagine Party & Events in 1999. Casey Baumer is a trained, professional chef, most recently employed by The Food Network. The combined talents of this team provide a unique array of resources, strategic planning, advertising, marketing, event planning, production, and creativity that will make every festival, “the event of the year”
